During the last three decades of war, the economy of Afghanistan has been damaged
severely and is in appalling state. During this war span there has been no developmental
work in Afghanistan, the whole infrastructure has been destroyed, all the backbones
of the economy have been ruined like; industry, agriculture, trade and commerce,
and the currency has been depreciated. More than half of the population is living
below poverty line and there is a tremendous amount of unemployment in the country.
After the new democratic government
has come into power, they started to reconstruct the building blocks of the economy.
In today’s modern world, management and business studies have become one of the
basic requirements of the economy and society. So in order to respond to such a
vital and important need, it is an honor for ATVI (Afghanistan Technical Vocational
Institute) to start business management department on 1st of June 2009
with its professionally qualified and trained faculty. This department is trying
to contribute to building Afghanistan’s future.
Business management department has designed a course in accordance with the current
requirements of the economy and society. This course comprises four-semester program.
Students participating in this program will be equipped with business and management
related knowledge and skills; such as, finance, marketing, banking and management.
The main focus of the course is on to provide professional and qualified manpower
to economy. In this way, ATVI will also contribute to the prosperity and growth
of Afghanistan.
